Frequently Asked Questions about ATM Screens
Have a question not on our FAQ list. Click here to send us an e-mail and we will try to ask your question(s) as quickly as possible. How do I know if my ATM is capable of displaying color graphics?Almost all Diebold and NCR ATMs that have been replaced in the last three years or have had an OEM 3DES upgrade should be able to display enhanced graphics overlays. The easiest way to find out is to call your ATM manufacturer's sales representative or your service contract provider. Your network processor should also be able to provide you with this information. Back to TopDo all ATM card network processors support color graphics? No, not all network processors support on-screen color graphics. Even if your processor supports color graphics, they may not support both static screens and animated images. Your network processor representative should be able to answer this question. As a free service, we would be happy to contact your network processor for you to answer this question. Even if your network does not support color graphics or certain types of images, your ATM manufacturer may offer a software package that will override your network processor's load image commands, thus allowing you to play color graphics. If you use your ATM manufacturer's graphics display software, please check with your network processor to be sure that they will provide support for load problems if you use this option. Back to TopWhat is the difference between a static image and an animated image?A static image is typically a single frame image that is displayed on your ATM screen. Static images can be combined to simulate animation. Static images are easy to update and typically can be installed by bank personnel. Some network processors provide transitions similar to PowerPoint transitions (wipe, dissolve, etc.) between static images. Displaying animation on your ATM screen will provide you with many options to present your image to your ATM card users. Typically, most Diebold and NCR ATMs will support animated FLC or AVI files. Some units will also support MPEG video and sound. Also, most ATMs will only support static and animated images processed in 256 colors or less. MPEG video will allow you to play broadcast television quality video with sound. Back to TopWho will load the graphics on to my ATM?Typically, your 2nd-line service vendor can install the image files to your ATM machine. Your vendor may charge you a fee if this is not included in your service agreement contract. In some instances, your ATM Network provider can provide you instructions for machine configuration and loading procedures. Back to TopBesides the Welcome screen, where else can I substitute my Network's normal load image with a custom screen graphic? In most cases, static images can be displayed while the customer is waiting for the transaction to process and after the transaction is complete. These two image locations can be very valuable areas for you to advertise services or products. Back to TopHow long will it take to produce a custom screen for my ATM?In most cases, production time is between two and four weeks. Complexity of the project will greatly influence the amount of production time. ATM Media Solutions can be flexible to accommodate most install schedules. Back to TopHow much does a typical custom-built screen cost?Prices will vary greatly depending on the complexity of the images and the number of locations that the images will be displayed on. ATM Media Solutions offers many different types of graphics packages to accommodate anyone's budget. Contact us today for a free price quote. Back to TopYou talk about NCR and Diebold ATMs, can any other brands of ATMs support color graphics?Yes! Triton, Tidel and many other manufacturers support color graphics. It just depends on the make and model of the ATM. Contact your ATM sales representative for specifications concerning your ATM. In addition to NCR and Diebold ATMs, we have designed graphics for Triton and Tidel ATMs. Back to TopWhat are the steps involved once we make your initial contact with your company? The first thing we will ask you when you call is what type of ATMs you own and if they have been OEM 3DES upgraded. Then we will ask you if you know what type of services your transaction processor supports concerning image overlays for displaying animation and static images. If possible, please have the above information available at the time you initially call us. If you are unsure about what to ask your network processor, we would be happy to call them directly. We only ask that you provide us with contact information and that you let your network processor know that we are authorized to talk with them about your particular locations. Back to TopWhere else can I get additional answers to my questions? You can get answers to your questions a number of ways. Your ATM manufacturer or your network processor provider should be able to answer the majority of your questions concerning on-screen graphics. If you prefer, our sales department at ATM Media Solutions would be happy to assist you in any way possible. Contact our sales department today. Back to TopWhat size of decals do you stock?ATM Media Solutions specializes in custom designed decals. We are able to produce a decal almost any size. Contact us for a price quote. Back to TopHow long does it take to produce a custom decal for my ATM?The typical decal project can be completed in as little as a two weeks. However, the amount of time required to produce a decal greatly depends on whether the customer is able to provide us quality artwork for the project. In most cases, production time is faster than the average customer can get a project layout approved by their marketing and compliance managers. ATM Media Solutions keeps a copy of the layout of each decal that we make enabling us to quickly reproduce a particular decal for an existing customer or a similar decal for a new customer. Back to TopDo you stock any particular style of decals? Not typically, but we do keep a copy of previous projects layouts. Turn around time for existing customers can be as fast as our production printer can accommodate us. Back to Top
